The whole of Reception and Key Stage 1 visited The Imperial War Museum at Duxford this week. The visit was to consolidate their work on Heroes. Whilst at Duxford the children were able to see many of the exhibits and took part in a workshop. They were also lucky enough to see a newly restored Spitfire aeroplane flying around the airfield. They all arrived home very tired after a long and exciting day. Thank you to all of the parents who came along as parent helpers.
Yesterday we had our Mother’s Day lunch and shop. Over 100 mums and grandmas came into school to enjoy a specially prepared lunch with the children. Everyone left having enjoyed a wonderful meal and took home a daffodil as a memento. Thank you also to the FOBS for organising the Mother’s Day shop which was very well attended and many presents bought. Mrs Bigg and her kitchen team must be congratulated once again on providing a meal worthy of the occasion.
Our Year 5/6 football team took part in a football tournament at Alconbury School this week. The team played 5 matches – they won 2 games, drew 1 game and lost 2 games. Well done to the team James, Fin, Jamie, Mack, Edward, Charlie, Jack, Lewis and Henry. Thank you to Mrs May, Mrs Peters and Mrs Squire for helping with transport to and from Alconbury, and also to Mr May for being team coach and refereeing some of the games.
Thank you for the donations for the Sport Relief Mile last week. We raised £225.00, which has now been sent off to the Sport Relief charity.
