“The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all of its pupils.”
Our Mission Statement
We agree with the Department for Education’s five part definition of British Values: • Democracy • The rule of law • Individual liberty • Mutual respect • Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
We believe it is incredibly important that these British Values permeate through every school in the country. At Buckden Primary School you will encounter these values throughout our everyday school life. We believe that our Christian identity plays an important role in upholding British Values within our school community. Our values are underpinned in our school creed which correlates with our British Values. Below is just a snap shot of how we promote these values in our school community:
Buckden Church of England School (Primary Academy Trust) is a vibrant and welcoming county primary school. We pride ourselves on being a school that is at the heart of the local community, having strong links with our local parish church of St Mary’s.
As a Church of England school we place an emphasis on the development of the whole child – both academically and spiritually. The school has a strong Christian ethos, underpinned by a core set of aims and values developed by our wider community.
Our school is continually striving to improve and ‘do things better’, which has resulted in us achieving the best academic results the school has had for 12 years. Over the last couple of years the school has been on a progressive journey to achieve more and gain this recognition. Our primary focus is to continue to raise standards, whilst also endeavoring to provide a broader, stimulating and more engaging curriculum for everyone in our school.
The Governments aim is for every child, whatever their background or circumstances to have the support they need. The information in this brochure is designed to give you an introduction and insight into our school and how we are working towards the Every Child Matters outcomes of:
- Be healthy
- Stay Safe
- Enjoy and Achieve
- Make a Positive Contribution
- Achieve Economic Well-being
We are a very open school and welcome visitors of all kinds, from parents and grandparents visiting for lunch, to colleagues from local schools working alongside us. You are most welcome to come and visit our school and see for yourself the tremendously hardworking staff and pupils we have here. I would be delighted to meet you and show you around.
Choosing the right school for you child is a very important decision. Reading this brochure is just one part in making that decision. Should you feel, having read this, that there are some important unanswered questions please do not hesitate to contact me firstname.lastname@example.org
