Week 6 - Blog 14/10/2022

Talk Homework: To talk about what artefacts you would want to put in your own vault (what items are important to you?).

Reading: Read daily, if possible, and log this on Boom Reader.

Spellings: words ending in '-ture': mixture, fracture, adventure, sculpture, picture, future, nature, creature.

Maths: Please continue to use TTrockstars. We have been focusing on our 2 times tables in class as well as dividing by 2.

In maths, we have started bridging 10 and 100 by adding and subtracting 1s or 10s. We started this week by having a practical lesson of finding patterns, we really enjoyed using the sticks to make triangles to allow us to predict how many we would need for 100 triangles.

We have started our new class reading book in English this week, Arthur and the Golden Rope. We have thoroughly enjoyed learning about the Brownstones vault and what was inside. We are looking forward to listening to more of the story next week.

This week we've started playing both netball and tag-rugby matches. The children have shown excellent teamwork and passing skills. We will play more matches next week to help everyone improve their skills and pivoting.

We enjoyed science this week, we have continued our understanding of fossils and began to create our own museum exhibits for next week were Adder class will come and explore our museum of fossils. We were amazed at how old the fossils are and all the types of fossils that can be made.

In DT, we began stitching our bookmarks. There are some lovely designs with some excellent use of cross stitch and running stitch. We will finish these off next week. 

Keep reading your AR chapter books at home. Each half-term every student has a set goal for reading books so these need to be taken home and brought back into school.
