Talk Homework- Your children have been sent home with the Phase 2 phonics graphemes/sounds for you to practise over half term. We have also sent home a name sheet, so they can practise writing their name.
The shared reading text we've completed this week is 'Pip Can Kick'. You can access this electronically on the Success For All Phonics Parent Portal.
Keep up with three times a week reading and recording on the Boom Reader App.
Cannot believe that we have done a whole half term as the wonderful Kingfisher class. This week we have focused upon our Geography and Design Technology curriculum. We went on a walk around the village to learn more about the services, buildings and transport. Thank you so so much to all the parents who joined us. It was wonderful hearing all the conversations and vocabulary being shared.
We then used this knowledge to create our own Buckden model village today. It was great fun sticking, glueing, and being creative.
In phonics we have learnt h, b, f and ff this week. The children have now started writing words containing the sounds taught. I feel very proud of their progress. In maths, we have been learning the composition of 2, 3 and 4 by seeing that, for example, 4 is equal to 2 and 1 and 1, or 2 and 2. The children even wrote some number sentences to match the groups they created with counters.
In French, we have been counting to 10 and have picked this up well.
Have a wonderful break!
