Talk Homework- Next week, we will be participating in Anti-Bullying week. Ahead of this we would like you to share with your child the definition of bullying so they can contribute to discussions with some prior knowledge. The official definition is:
Bullying is the repetitive, intentional hurting of one person or group by another person or group, where the relationship involves an imbalance of power.
It can happen face to face or online.
For our younger children we will be explaining this as an unkind action, done on purpose to another person, several times.
Please also read with your child at least three times per week and please input an entry in Boom Reader each time you read.
Our learning this week has focused upon Remembrance Day. We read a lovely story 'Where the Poppies Grow' and watched the cbeebies animation with a rabbit who lived on the fields where the soldiers were fighting. The children talked about how proud we are of the soldiers who were involved and their bravery and courage.
The children created some beautiful artwork using Poppies as inspiration. The children's drawings have all been displayed on our Excellence board as they were so good.
In maths, we have been learning about parts of a number to make a whole eg. 2 is a part and 3 is a part and the whole is 5.
In phonics, we have learnt j v and w and read the book 'Mess on the Rug'. This is available for you to read with your child on the Success for All parent portal. The children's reading fluency and expression is really improving.
