Talk Homework- Chat with your child about what they learnt about first aid from Mr Brocklebank. Discuss medicines and how it must only be given by a grown up as they can read the instructions and be sure it is safe for you to take.
Reading- read at least 3 times a week and log on Boom reader.
On Monday, we had a visit from Mr Brocklebank, a community superhero, who spoke to us about what to do if we see someone who needs first aid. The children got to use the bandages to wrap up Mrs Woodward and Mrs Heal. Both teachers made a speedy recovery from their fictional ailments with the extra-special care they received from the children. Later in the day the children did first aid on our soft toys and wrote first aid notes for them.
On Thursday, we went to the library. The children had a lovely time having a story read to them by Sally, the librarian and community superhero, and then exploring the library to find books that interested them. If your child chose a book, but did not have a library card, the library is reserving the book for them. All you need to do is stop by the library to collect it. If your child did choose a book, the due date slip is inserted in the book and the library card is in your child's reading folder.
In maths, we have been learning about the properties and names of 3D shapes. The children have also revised pattern and looked at ABAB, AAB, ABC and AA,BB patterns. They did very well with this and were quicker than the teachers!
In English/ History, we have learnt about Mary Anning. The children created a visual timeline of her fascinating life. They have learnt a lot of facts about her exploration of fossils.
Have a lovely weekend!
