21st September 2023

Talk Homework: Have a chat about your home and different homes of people you know. Vocabulary you can use: detached, semi-detached, bungalow, village, neighbour. You can even do a number hunt, looking at numbers on houses.

Reading at least 3 times a week and record on Boom Reader.

This week we have learned the phonemes (sounds) i, n, m and d in phonics. In maths, we've been using the vocabulary "fewer" and "more" to compare amounts. We have been talking about our families, sharing photos from our All About Me bags. I have learned many interesting facts about your families, including my favourite: "This is grandma. She is called grandma." In music, we have been learning new songs as well as singing a rap version of Patty Cake. The children have loved performing for their friends! We wrote a class charter using the Rights Respecting Articles to help us with ideas. We're becoming more familiar with the routines of school, such as getting our school dinners, attending collective worship with the whole school and changing for PE.

There is a phonics meeting after school on Tuesday, 26th September from 3:30-4:30.

Have a lovely weekend!
