Homework- Read at least 3 times a week and record on Boom reader please.

Complete some time on Numbots. Practise lines for the Nativity.

This week we began rehearsing our nativity, The Sleepy Shepherd. The children are very excited to be putting on a show for their families! We also learned about some more celebrations--Thanksgiving and Hanukkah. Ned's father came in and told us about how he celebrated Thanksgiving in America and we made special turkey hats. Today we had a Celebration of Light afternoon and learned about Hanukkah. We did crafts and learned about how and why Jewish people celebrate Hanukkah.

In phonics, we learnt the letters x y and z the tricky words into, are, you, we

In maths, we used the stem sentence How many? and practised reading digits and counting out a specific number.

In writing, we were thinking about hibernation and we wrote a list of things we would bring with us if we were hibernating. Some children thought snakes would be important to bring, others thought a bit more practically and suggested a pillow and blanket. But all the children were determined to write their ideas, using their phonics skills to help them.
