Please ensure you are logging all reading on Boomreader. We have sent home Letterjoin logins for you all to access our online platform we use within school to help with letter formation at home. Please make sure you are doing at least 20 minutes of numbots a week.

Please practice the spellings for the test next week: white, hike, prize, screen, move, only.

In English this week the children have been reading more of ‘How to Find Gold’ and got the chance to write a character description about the sea monster they created. It was great to see the children’s ideas and there was some great descriptive writing by all. We have also been looking at how to write a setting description for the storm in the book and we all worked together to write one as a class.

In maths we have been looking at missing number problems where the children have been able to show their understanding of fact families and they have shown great resilience with this.

In Science, we have been learning about amphibians and the children had the chance to make their own frog out of paper. The children were also able to use their knowledge to compare similarities and differences between amphibians and mammals.

In Art, we focused on ‘The Great Wave off Kanagawa’ by Hokusai and the children had a go at drawing it and then made the base for their relief print using string and cardboard.

Just a reminder that payments for Safari Stu can be made on Arbour.
