7.2.25

Please complete homework tasks by Thursday. Make sure you know our spelling words for this week and are ready for our quiz on Monday/Tuesday. This week's words have silent letters: autumn, doubt, island, lamb, solemn, thistle, build, receipt, ascend and disciple.
Remember to read every day (three times a week with an adult) and 30 minutes of TTRockstars.
This week, Ulysses particularly enjoyed our RE day, focusing on what peace and justice is for God, the world and themselves. Year 5 also learnt about Champions of Justice, such as Marcus Rashford and Queen Elizabeth II, bringing together their research to create a fact file. It was a great day for discussions.
The pupils have shown a lot of resilience this week with their assessments, which they will finish on Monday with a reading comprehension.
We also finished our turtles and jellyfish in Art, which were a lot of messy fun, and will be ready to hang or take home at the end of next week.
In geography, we've been learning about the importance of sustainable fishing and exploring artifacts found locally from the era of Anglo-Saxon England.
Birdwing challenged their listening, problem-solving and teamwork skills on Friday as they had to work out how to separate all the materials (sand, plastic, salt and metal) from dirty water using filtration, sieving and evaporation.
Next week, pupils will be creating their DT projects using CAMS and could benefit from some extra cardboard. If anyone has Amazon or cereal boxes, please bring them in as it may be useful. Thank you.
We look forward to seeing you at Koinonia Friday to see your child's work.
Thanks for your support,
Mrs Schmidt, Mrs Conlong and Mrs Anderson
