What a lovely week! Spring is well and truly in the air!
In English this week we have continued exploring our book 'The Varmints'. The children have written setting descriptions for two contrasting points within the story and came up with beautiful pieces of writing. We also have planned a diary entry from the perspective of the main character, focusing on how he might feel seeing his idealistic home become a horrid dirty city.
In Maths, we have begun looking at fractions and how they compare to one another. The children have been tackling the tricky notion that, despite looking as though it would be smaller, 1/3 is larger than 1/4.
In PSHE we continued looking at risky situations we might find ourselves in and how we should respond to them. RE saw us looking at the type of world we live in, what world we would like to live in and, most importantly, how we can make our world better.
The thing the children seem to have enjoyed the most this week, however, has to have been their art. The children worked really hard, creating a design for a sustainable city drawn in one-point perspective in the style of artist Stephen Wiltshire. Some amazing designs have been created and we can't wait to create our final piece!
Have a lovely weekend and see you next week!
