We've started our Superhero topic with a BANG! BASH! WOLLOP! Real life super heroes from the fire brigade visited us and let us sit in the fire engine, explore their kit for fighting fires and spray water from a real fire hose! In phonics, we learned the trigraph "igh" and read The Train Set. In maths, we used comparison to explore length and distance. We really worked on the vocabulary of longer/shorter/taller, narrow/thick to compare our heights, hand spans, foot size and distance we could throw a welly. We wrote about what we would like to pack in our bag to go to superhero school and in RE we learned about Lent and Pancake Day -- very exciting! In PE we have started out new unit in dance and we are excited about preparing a superhero dance we can share with our parents and carers towards the end of the term.
