In the eyes of God, every child matters, every moment of every day

Friday 10th January

Please ensure you are logging all reading on Boomreader. We have sent home Letterjoin logins for you all to access our online platform we use within school to help with letter formation at home. Please make sure you are doing at least 20 minutes of numbots a week.

Please practice the spellings for the test next week: mean, threw, cake, bake, jumping, beautiful.

The children have all settled back in well this week and we are really impressed with their level of focus. In English we started looking at our new book ‘How to Find Gold’ and the children have made some great predictions about what they think is going to happen.

In Maths we have been looking at addition to 20 using our number bonds and have also looked at doubles.

The children have really enjoyed Art where we have been learning the primary colours and the children got to go on a scavenger hunt to see if they could spot them around school. They then had to chance to make their own piece of artwork in the style of Piet Mondrian.

In Science we have been looking at different types of animals and learning that they can be classified into different groups. The children are really excited to go into more detail about each of the groups and explore this topic further.

In Music we have started to learn the songs for our play which we will be performing next half term! More information will be sent home about this closer to the time.
