Please ensure you are logging all reading on Boomreader. We have sent home Letterjoin logins for you all to access our online platform we use within school to help with letter formation at home. Please make sure you are doing at least 20 minutes of numbots a week.
Please learn these spellings for the test next week: pure, unfair, might, beard, was, because.
In English this week we have been carrying on with reading ‘Claude in the City’ and the children have been looking at sequencing the key events. We also took the time to write a postcard to two of the characters as a class and they produced a fantastic piece of writing. Today we met a few new characters and the children got to create a ‘wanted’ poster to help find a robber.
In maths we have been exploring a new topic where we have been looking at heavier and lighter and the children got to choose any two items in the classroom and we compared their weights. We will be moving on to volume and capacity next week.
In science we were exploring winter and what this looks like. The children got to create part of their map that demonstrates what the weather looks like in this season and what clothes we need to wear.
In RE we have been looking deeper into the Easter Story and focused on The Last Supper. The children got to explore what forgiveness means and what the Easter story shows us about this.
The Year 1 and 3 Play is called Rockpool and will be on the 1st and 2nd of April.
Tuesday 1st April 2pm - 3pm
Tuesday 1st April 3:45 pm - 4:45 pm
Wednesday 2nd April 5:30 - 6:30 pm.
‘Rock Pool’ first and foremost is a story about friendship, determination, acceptance and community. Its ecological themes are there for all to see, but as part of a lovely wider story.
