The Year 1 & 3 production Rock Pool will take place in the last week of this term at the following times:

Tuesday 1st April 2pm - 3pm

Tuesday 1st April 3:45 pm - 4:45 pm

Wednesday 2nd April 5:30 - 6:30 pm.

‘Rock Pool’ first and foremost is a story about friendship, determination, acceptance and community. Its ecological themes are there for all to see, but as part of a lovely wider story.

Another busy week in Year 3. This week we have studied the features of a newspaper in preparation for writing a newspaper article based on a theme in The Varmints. A beautiful meadow is going to be built on and this will be the basis of our newspaper article.

In maths, we have combined many maths skills to work out the perimeter of shapes. We had to use our measuring skills to measure the side of a shape in cm and mm. Then we had to measure all four sides or two sides and double the number. Finally, we had to add together the measurements to calculate the perimeter. This was really challenging if the measurements were in cm and mm and if the shape had many sides.

In Geography, we used our skills to locate cities on a map and in science we dissected tulips to find the parts of a flower.

In French, we continued to learn the vocabulary for ice-creams and in computing we used Purple Mash to write messages to each other. On Thursday morning, we had a special visitor who taught us how to respond to situations that require First Aid, such as burns, cuts, allergies and even choking. Thank you, Mr Brocklebank, for giving up your time to teach us this important knowledge.

Have a great weekend
