This week has been very busy and enjoyable for so many reasons. The children are really excited to perform their play for their parents next week and have had their first dress rehearsal, which went really well.
In English, the children have been working really hard to plan a newspaper article about the story in The Varmints. It has made them appreciate the impact of building new towns on green land and the importance of planning nature areas, parks and other green areas to ensure the new town is built sustainably. In maths, we have learnt about unit and non-unit fractions, ordered fractions and studied fractions and scales. The children loved science this week when we observed cherry blossom close up to see all the parts of the flower. We could see the anthers where the flower’s pollen was and this helped us to understand how a bee helps to transfer pollen to other flowers to pollinate them. We also learnt about the four methods of seed dispersal. In P.E. we have continued to learn netball skills and have been putting together a group dance combining kicks, turns and jumps. During art we have mastered drawing from a one-point perspective and can now draw a skyscraper with all lines pointing to a vanishing point.
The children loved the opportunity to buy a bracelet in the Mother’s Day mobile shop today too!
Have a great weekend
