In the eyes of God, every child matters, every moment of every day

10.1.25

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas break and thank you for all your thoughtful gifts.

It's been brilliant to have the children back and there's been such achievement this week. We've finished our fractions unit with some very tricky lessons on subtracting fractions, but they mastered it in the end, and started our new book. They don't know much about it yet, but they truly impressed us with their inference and predictions based on the opening illustration.

We've also started learning about the Anglo-Saxons and their place in British history, the difference between dissolving and melting in Science, and industries that use our oceans. Many felt very strongly about the positive and negative effects of how we use the oceans, especially once they learnt that it provides 50% of our oxygen. We started our Art unit with some lovely observational drawing of shells (and some fun with continuous line and blind drawing) – keep practising!

Read (and log) daily reading, practise your spellings for Monday, do 30-minutes of TTRockstars and complete your homework for Thursday please. If you have trouble with your homework, Mrs Schmidt will be available Monday lunchtimes to seek support if you need it.
