Please complete homework tasks by Thursday. Make sure you know our spelling words for this week and are ready for our quiz on Monday. This week's words are: knife, knight, wreath, wrestler, mnemonic, pterodactyl, wreckage, writer, knowledge, knuckle.
Remember to read every day (three times a week with an adult) and record your reading in your reading diary. These will be checked on Monday.
Make sure you watch Newsround over the weekend and be ready to write about a news story that has interested you.
Year 5 has had a wonderful week. Bella and Florence have really enjoyed developing their character descriptions linked with our class reading book, and some are truly impressive.
Birdwing was lucky enough to have a parent helper, and experienced willow weaver, visit this week to support them in their art project and Ulysses are eager to get messy with their paper mache on Monday as they finish their sculptures.
In science, they've been exploring solubility with a few surprises. They've also been problem-solving methods for separating dirty water. Presented with a mixture of salt water, microplastics, sand and paper-clips they've been tasked with separating each substance by sieving, filtering and evaporation. There's been a lot of thought and team work involved in planning their processes to put into action next week.
