Talk Homework: Maths - This week we've been exploring numbers on a number track. We played Snakes and Ladders with partners in our class. Play a counting board game at home. Practise counting on from a number and naming the number landed on.
Reading at least 3 times a week and record on Boom Reader. In phonics we practised the tricky words: come, some, all, there, like, here, when, today, what, where. Due to the bank holidays this past fortnight, we will listen to your child read once in rather than twice in this period.
Thursday is PE. Please make sure your child has a PE kit with trainers, as we are doing PE outside on the playing field
Worms, worms, worms! We read the story 'Yucky Worms' and have learnt so much about these slimy little things. Did you know they have 5 pairs of hearts!!!! The breath through their skin!!!! They have no eyes or ears!!! We have learnt so much. Some children were not so keen on them at the beginning of the week, but they are now more accepting of them because of all their super skills as underground farmers.
In phonics, we have learnt the digraph 'oi'- Noisy boiling water.
In maths, we have been sequencing digits to 20 and finding numbers greater than and less than. Today we played a game of snakes and ladders which was lots of fun.
In PE, we continued with ball skills and aiming with under arm throws. RE this week was learning more about the festival of Raksha Bandhan. The children all made bracelets for their siblings to show how they care.
