Talk Homework- Talk to your child about Remembrance Day and share why it may be special to your family.
The shared reading text we've completed this week is 'Big Red Bus'. You can access this electronically on the Success For All Phonics Parent Portal.
Keep up with three times a week reading and recording on the Boom Reader App. And please be sure your child has their PE kit every Thursday.
The first part of the week, we learnt about the Hindu festival Diwali. We read the story of Rama and Sita and the children had a lovely time reenacting the story. They really liked being the demon king, Ravana who has 10 heads! We also learnt about Bonfire Night and why we celebrate it in England. We listened to the 1812 Overture to ignite our imaginations and get us in the mood for fireworks. In maths, we began to discuss the properties of the following shapes: circle, triangle, square and rectangle. We learnt new vocabulary, including curved and angle. In phonics, we have been learning the phonemes and practising writing words containing: l, ll and ss. In PE we had another fabulous morning exploring the apparatus, hanging, crawling, jumping and climbing, building up those muscles to become super writers. We also worked on our fine motor skills, hammering nails and golf tees into pumpkins.
Have a lovely weekend.
