School Ethos, Mission Statement and Values

“The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice.  It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all of its pupils.”

 Mission Statement

This year we will be making a stronger link between our core values and the ethos of the school, celebrating the many ways in which individuals, groups and the school community as a whole are embodying some of the core values that are at the heart of Christian faith.  We have 6 core values based on the Olympics Values of; Friendship, Excellence, Respect, Inspiration, Determination and Equality. Each term we are exploring one of the values through collective worship, class work and in many other ways.

Values

Promoting British Values

We agree with the Department for Education’s five part definition of British Values: • Democracy • The rule of law • Individual liberty • Mutual respect • Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

We believe it is incredibly important that these British Values permeate through every school in the country. At Buckden Primary School you will encounter these values throughout our everyday school life. We believe that our Christian identity plays an important role in upholding British Values within our school community. Our values are underpinned in our school creed which correlates with our British Values. Below is just a snap shot of how we promote these values in our school community:
