26th June 2015 – Year 6 at Buckden Festival

Over the past few weeks year 6 have been extremely busy!

Enterprise was a huge success with the children raising over £200. We had apple bobbing, candy floss, chocolate fountains, pillow fights and much more.

All of year 6 then choice a charity they wished the money to be donated to.

Rehearsals for the performance of ‘Aladdin’ are well underway. 

The children have all experienced year 7 taster lessons delivered by teaching staff from Hinchingbrooke School.  These lessons give the children an idea of what to expect  when they move onto secondary school

Week beginning 20th April

This week the children have been introduced to their new English topic which is bullying. By the end of the unit the children will have written poems based upon bullying. This week we have discussed in detail, what a bully  / victim is? and talked about how what a bully / Victim feels on the inside can influence their actions.

The children have also started their new term topic – Darwin. They began by sequencing events in Earths history using toilet roll!!

In maths we have been looking at measures, in particular converting one unit of measure to another.
