In the eyes of God, every child matters, every moment of every day

26th January 2024

Talk Homework-We will be doing a science experiment about porridge next week. If you can, take the opportunity to make some porridge with your child and talk about your favourite things to add to it to make it even tastier. Maybe experiment with some different spices and discover a new favourite...cinnamon anyone?

Reading at least 3 times a week and record on Boom reader.

We continued exploring the artwork of Lottie Reniger this week. After completing our greyscale backgrounds last week, we made solid black foreground characters to look like the shadow creations in Reniger's work.

Sunny- I really liked colouring in the witch in my Hansel and Gretel artwork.

We made a story map for The Three Little Pigs this week and practised retelling it to our friends. Then we made our own houses using junk modelling materials. Instead of the Big Bad Wolf, we had the Big Bad Hairdryer to try and blow our creations down. We noticed the houses made of wood and blocks withstood the wind the best!

Phoebe - I enjoyed blowing the houses down when we huffed and puffed. We used the Big Bad Hairdryer to try to blow down the houses we built. Caitlyn built the strongest house.

Sophia- I enjoyed making the shadows (the foregrounds for our artwork).

Sophie R- I enjoyed doing science. We were talking about the porridge (for next week)

Grace - I enjoyed telling the class about my favourite fairy tale Little Red

Riding Hood (during 3-minute Talk).

In maths, the children learnt composition of seven.

Florence - I enjoyed using the 10 frame to subitise the blocks (in maths)

In phonics, they have learnt the sh, th and ng digraphs.

Have a lovely weekend!
