This week we have been continuing with our super hero theme and we met another real-life superhero - Jasper S's mummy is a paediatric nurse and she visited us to tell us about her work and how she helps others. We also really enjoyed wearing our pyjamas to eat our school dinners on World Book Day and having a special treat of hot chocolate and marshmallows bought for the whole school by the PTA.

In maths, we've learnt more about number bonds to 10, thinking about the composition of numbers up to 10. In phonics, we learnt the new digraph oa. We explored the sculptures of Alberto Giacometti and made our own foil sculptures in the style of Giacometti.  For science, we explored magnets and thought about what materials magnets attract and why magnets repel other magnets sometimes.

We made Mother's Day cards, so please check your child's bag to make sure you get it on Sunday. Also, during World Book Day, all the children wrote a wish list of books that interested them from the Usborne independent seller that visited during the day. Please check their bag for their list. All sales contribute to new books for the school.
