Year 5s have been busy finalising their designs for their sustainable buildings and are very excited to begin building on Monday next week. Each architectural team has their design and is equipped with their materials list that they will need to bring in to school on Monday for their team to complete the project. They will be constructing a wooden frame and then covering their designs in their chosen recyclable materials. We will be providing the wood to build with.

In Science, we have been learning Physics and exploring gravity, mass and friction. Whilst in History, we are exploring if there was more to the Vikings than the raiders and plunderers early historians depicted them. We've been looking at evidence from the Coppergate excavation in York that might suggest that they were in fact civilised, family-orientated and great craftspeople.

In English, we're about to embark on some very persuasive letter writing linked to our class text 'The Promise' and today we began Book Club – a time when children can share their favourite and current reading books and recommendations. In Math, we're looking at decimals and their equivalent fractions.

Have a lovely weekend
